Heliox with the Servo-I Ventilator
Equipment Needed
- Heliox compatible vent
- Heliox regulator
- 80/20 heliox tank
- Wrench
- Heliox vent hose and adaptor
Initial Setup
- Attach regulator and heliox vent hose together if not already done
- Connect the regulator to the heliox tank using the wrench to tighten it on
- Put the other end of the heliox vent hose and the heliox vent adaptor together if not already connected
- Pull the air hose straight down from the gas inlet port on the side of the servo.
- Replace with the heliox hose
- Open the heliox tank by unscrewing the valve at the top of the tank
To manually change gas type after getting the initial set up
- Press the menu button on the right side of the screen
- When the menu pops up, press the compensate button
- Next hit the gas type, and you will get a pop up asking if you are sure you want to compensate for HeO2, press yes
- Will send a message saying the system is compensated for HeO2, press OK
- When hooked up and functioning correctly, you should see a “He O2” in the upper left side of the screen
